GC Fiscalité Plus inc.

Effective October 3, 2026. This policy explains, in plain language, how GC Fiscalité Plus inc. protects your personal information. It applies to our clients, to the people connected to their files, and to visitors to our website.

Who is responsible

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at our firm is:

Guillaume Charron, president
Person in charge of the protection of personal information
gcharron@groupegc.ca · 450 591-1424
534 Notre-Dame Street, Suite 208, Repentigny, Quebec J6A 2T8

You may contact this person with any question, any request for access or correction, or any complaint.

The information we collect

We collect this information from you, or from the people and organizations you authorize us to contact, such as your financial institution, your notary, or the tax authorities.

Why we collect it

Recording of calls and meetings

So that we keep accurate notes in your file, our telephone calls are recorded and transcribed, and our online meetings may be recorded and transcribed using a note-taking assistant. You are told before any recording: by a message at the beginning of the call, and by an email before the meeting. You may decline: simply tell us, or use the link provided in the notice email. Recordings are confidential and are used only to follow up on your file.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else without your authorization.

Information stored outside Quebec

Some of our tools store information outside Quebec, in particular our email and office software, whose data is hosted in the United States, as well as our note-taking and artificial intelligence tools. Before using them, we assessed the privacy risks and concluded that your information receives adequate protection there, and we entered into written agreements to that effect. You may write to us to learn more.

“Our website is also hosted in the United States: the IP addresses in its technical logs and the email addresses submitted for our newsletter pass through it.”

Artificial intelligence

We use artificial intelligence tools to speed up certain work: drafting documents, filing, transcription, and verification. These tools assist our work; all of our conclusions and all of our documents are reviewed and approved by a professional of the firm. No decision concerning you is made solely by automated processing.

How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out above and as required by tax legislation and the rules of our professional order. In tax matters, some information remains necessary for a very long time: the adjusted cost base of your shares, the paid-up capital, the capital dividend account, or the history of a reorganization may be needed decades later, on a sale, a death, or a liquidation. We therefore keep those items for as long as their effects continue, and then destroy them. Other documents are destroyed at the end of the periods set out in our retention schedule.

How we protect it

Our files are kept on our own equipment, protected by individual accounts, passwords, two-factor authentication, remote access through a virtual private network, protection against malicious software, encryption of portable devices, and regular backups. Our paper documents are kept in premises that are not open to the public and are shredded when destroyed.

Our website

Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, for example to remember the display language. It also uses an audience measurement tool, Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit our pages and which pages interest them. That tool is activated only with your agreement: when you arrive, a window lets you accept or decline it, and declining is just as easy as accepting. Until you accept, no audience measurement cookie is placed. You may change your mind at any time using the link provided on the website. We do not use any advertising cookies.

If you sign up for our tax newsletters, your address is used only to send them to you, and you may unsubscribe at any time by writing to us.

Your rights

Write to the person in charge identified above. We will answer you in writing, within 30 days at the latest from the date we receive your request. Should we refuse your request in whole or in part, we would give you our reasons and inform you of your recourses and their time limits.

Incidents

If an incident affecting your information presented a risk of serious injury, we would notify you promptly, as well as the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Changes

We may change this policy. The current version is always published on gcfiscalite.com/en/privacy-policy, with its effective date.
